2k2 window problem, Auto up, but rolls itslef down after?! Broken?
Hey guys...2k2...i hit the Auto up on the passenger side, the window rolls complely up, then rolls down about 2 1/2" like something got stuck. I know these windows roll down if theres an obstruction, but is something wrong with mine? Theres no dirt or pebbles in the seal or anything. Great...another thing to go wrong
But if i hold the lever up manually it rolls up fine.

i took it to a Nissan dealer, but they couldn't duplicate the problem so didn't touch a thing. but the good thing is, now it went away. knock knock knock

ah my window did the exact same thing! funny thing was... it occurred after my windows were tinted, so don't know if that had anything to do with it. my car was totaled a few days ago, i guess i wont be having the problem anymore.

I replied to this post earlier saying my 2002 SE had a problem with the window going up and then down about 3 inches. BUT I DID NOT HAVE TINT. At first the dealer told me that I had a dirty track. They have a safety mechanism in them so the window won't
push up too hard. They cleaned my window track twice before giving me a new motor.
Tint may indeed make the window motor work harder pusing the window through that narrow track!!!
auto-up window function...
hey, i had the same problem with my 2K2 SE. i read that there was a "safety" mechanism built in so that if anything got caught in its path it would simply go back down again. well i guess i had to try it myself...i pulled on the "auto -up" button and proceeded to try to activate the so called safety mechanism... well it didn't work, you could say that i didn't wait till it pinned my arm... i tried to... hmmm how shall i put this? "push down" on the window after i activated the "auto-up" window function. like i said it didn't work and i wasn't going to push my luck, if you know what i mean. in the end my "auto-up" window function works like it supposed to. i admit this isn't the best way to go about this but i was tired, and in a fleeting moment of stupidity tried this stunt. anyhow if your not as adventurous as i was, take it to the dealer. good luck. (i don't have tints yet)
Had the same problem w my pathfinder
Wife had the same problem w her 2001 Pathfinder SE. It was annoyging as hell. It was covered under warranty. Believe they replaced some sensors in her door for the window safety feature.
yea, looks like the safety, maybe the sensor is dirty or something...
if u put ur arm out the window and hit the auto up, it will go al the way up and touch ur arm, sense it, and go back down again...
go to nissan

The things we ALL do sometimes.....
B
Tint?
The only way I could see tinting the window as a problem is if the people who did it took the window out and did not put it back properly. I can't imagine that the mm thick tint would put any kind of "strain" on the window motor.
MAN~! i have this problem....i looked over the door very closely after the bodyshop and TINT shop....U KNOW WHAT IT IS~!! well in my case..... IT IS THE SAFE MECHANISM>....the window wasn't installed back properly ...its not the motor...its the window....they installed it kinda tilted...i have gaps about 1/4 an inch when its rolled up...the window hits the TOP of ur door b4 it FULLY closes...therefor...it "thinks itclosed on an arm or something and rolls down....
THIS explains y everyone's problem was fixed, AFTER THEY took apart the thing..nothing is WRONG...the people just didn't install it right...DAMN THEM....but,LOOk over your window, make sure there arent any gaps or anythin that would trigger the "safety feature...

Yo, man. This happens to my drivers' side window on occasion. I have no idea why. It's as if something is blocking it. I think it's an over-sensitive safety feature problem also. The window goes up the way it's supposed to then comes back down half way. It's really annoying. Especially now that it's 25°ƒ outside!!!!
(BTW, I have tinted windows.)
