GREAT NEWS!! Headlight with angel eyes for 5th gen released in Taiwan!!!!!
When i was talking to my cousin in TW this morning, i was telling him that i want the angels eyes so bad!! then he told me an aftermarket company in taipei, taiwan, had made the halo projector headlight for 5th gen maxima,
they are simular like this (of course it's for accord) . he told me those run about $9000NT, so it's about $260 US dollars. I asked him a favor that go take a picture for me for how it looks. once i got the pics, i will post them online and let u guys know. he also will ask the phone number for me so we can ask them if they do the international shipping!

Yes, they do, but most ppl just don't buy them because of crappy interior and its equipment. Most Asians like luxury interior design and fancy equipments. Cefiros have those, besides, most ppl in Taiwan would drive 4 cylinders cefiros, not V6 models, because it wastes hella more gas and the fastest you can drive in Taiwan most of the time is less than 40 miles per hour most of the time!
However, they do make stuff for US maximas, what do you think the VIS carbon fiber hood and VIS racing body kits for 5th gen maximas are from?????
P.S. I have true coil-over system on my max from Taiwan!!!
It's for 5th gen maximas, include 2k-2k3. taiwan has no 2k2-2k3 though, but they do have 2k-2k1. All i saw just GLE, i never seen GXE and SE before!!
u r going back in 9 days?? wow....how nice...i wish i can go back but due to my intersession. u might go ask some infos about those head lights!! u can buy a sports magizine and they have lots of speed shop!! i remember that after market company is called "Ä£¼w'

BTW, they only have like 220hp for US spec maximas sold in taiwan, guess why, because they have even tighter emission control than Califonia emission cars!!!
I remember there was this one time, my friend brought back a US spec toyota MR-2(turbo version) california emission--back to Taiwan after he finished his education here. He had to something to his emission control system in order to pass emission in Taiwan to become legal to drive on the street. I think he added another Catalytic Converter on top of those factory ones

Same in China and the rest of the world. No maxima anywhere else except North America. A33 Cefiro is basically cosmetically identical to Infiniti I30/35

Actually they even have factories in Taiwan that make Nissan cars--we called it domestic Nissan, and the imported ones (made in USA or Japan). Same goes for Subu Imprezza, they are made in Taiwan, they dont' even sell the Japanese made Imprezza in Taiwan(unless of course you specifically order one from US, Japan)....
Taiwanese make a lot of stuff that you will never realize. For example, Mugen, Tokicos, and a lot of JDM parts are actually made in Taiwan factories..
A lot of times, like Acura RSX, they never sell that car in Taiwan, but you will probably realize that a lot of parts sold in US are from or made in Taiwan---
How do they do it? the companies import RSX and R&D parts for it and later sell the car to some rich ppl who want to be exclusive!
and I have heard rumors that JIC is actually made in Korea ..anybody can confirm this?

As for those of you being afraid to open, and not crack your housing open, no cracking needed or occurs. Put your headlight into the oven and heat to around 180. The heat will heat up the housing but not enough to cause damage. It also heats up the glue which will become sticky and soft. Use an old butter knife. Preferably not sharp and not too bendable and one that you wounldn't mind destroying. (Glue sticks to it) just start prying around and when you get the inside most edge, toward the high beam or toward the center (of the car) then use your fingers and pry. If the housing or glue gets cold or becomes hard again, put it back in the oven. The first time I did it with my 2k housing, it took me 40 min each because it was the first time. The second time it took about 10-15 min each.
No damage and when putting it back together, just reverst the steps an put the whole thing back in the oven and heat. This way the glue will soften and allow you to push everything back together and seal corretly. If you're afraid of moisture, I would say run a thin bead of silicone in the joints. I would be nice if we knew what Nissan uses for the glue then you can just squeeze some more in.
my 2 cents

There are 5th gen Maximas in Taiwan. I saw one myself at Costco in KHH. They stopped selling them after the 2001 model year probably because the engine size went from 3.0L to 3.5L. I believe this is a taxable threshold but what do I know, I'm a foreigner.
FWIW I just bought a RT ticket from a podunk-middle-of-nowhere east coast city to KHH on Northwest for $620 (via an appropriate Chinese travel agency of course).

Maxima In Taiwan
Taiwan does sell Maxima, and they are still selling 2K Maxima becuase
Maxima does not sell in Taiwan. eg: in the SE Maxima, dealer took of the wing and the interior suck(Trim Wood). They sell Maxima for 1,500,000 NT = 5,0000 USD
I worked for Option Magazine in Taiwan and I was one of writer who wrote for Maxima. I am very positive that Taiwan has Maxima. If you want to know, I can tell you which episode of "Option Magazine" has Maxmia.
