Starting in sub 32 degree weather
Need some help, I try and warm my 2000 Maxima up in the morning and it will die after about 10 seconds. I have never had this problem, I am assuming I need a new battery since I just had a 45,000 mile check up and everything was cleared...any advise....THANKS

I would think a battery should last more then 45,000 miles, any others with this problem, maybe it is not the battery....THANKS

No, if your car was operating normally, there is a dip in the rpm at 10-20 secs but instead its stalling. Then it drops down again in about a minute. The ECU is changing the fuel map. There is a service bulletin for this stalling, it pertained to stalling in northern states/canada (i.e COLD!)
I believe it envolves a ECU reflash.

TimW is right on it. Nissan Technical Bulletin: NTB02-010 "Low/No Idle After Cold Start"
Even though it applies to 2001 vehicles, all 2000 ECU (PCM/ECM) malfunction/reprogramming is warrantied to 8 yr/80,000 mi. Check your warranty booklet. You can download and print a copy of the bulletin at:
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/tsb/Index.cfm
Search there under Vehicle/2001/Nissan/Maxima/Engine. Describe the problem like in the bulletin just don't say you know a bulletin exists unless the dealer hands you a bill. Keep your printout and booklet handy.
Update:
I found a TSB Summary for the 2000 Max with a similar problem. NTB00-008A "Low/No Idle When Shifting into Drive or Reverse After Cold Start". No scanned bulletin. This may be Auto Transm related.
