Dim Headlights

The headlights on my Maxima have always been a little dim. They do not seem to light up the road very well. I don't think I have a bad battery or alternator or anything like that. Has anyone tried the Xenon lights or had similar trouble with dim headlights?

The Maxima's 9004s just plain suck, esp. if you don't have the extra illumination from foglights. Nothing you can really do about it except go to higher wattage bulbs, HIDs, or some conversion. There may be some stock wattage aftermarket bulbs that are bright though.

I just got some 9004 bulbs from ebay. that are rated at 5000K. I really liked the way they light up the road. Maybe you should try some other bulbs.

Pop the hood on your max and look for a group of black wires coming out from behind the passenger headlight. Follow the wires to the gounding bolt. Unscrew the bolt and take some steel wool and clean the ground ring and the metal surface it contacts. I did this to my max and the headlights were brighter. On my max the ground ring and metal were black from dirt/corrosion.

Also check the alignment of your headlights.
