Rumor has it a supercharger is out for the spec as well? got any links to info on that?oh and back to the topic at hand...comes down to driver but i'd put the money on the max.
The maxima has probably got you unless he flubbs the launch. He should be trapping around 93-94 and if he can get out of the hole could run as good as 14.6. More likely 14.8-14.9 though.

So, that makes me a moron that can't drive?

The best I've ever seen anyone w/a stock 2K2 auto get is 14.66. Almost everyone else that's stock is running in the high 14s. Everyone else that's getting better times that that is modded. Even some modded 2K2 autos are getting times as high as 14.8.
There are lots of variables besides the driver such as humidity, temps, track condition, tires, etc. It was quite hot out when I did most of my runs (90 degrees in some cases).
Back to Laloosh's questions, it'll be real close. Reaction time might end up being the deciding factor.

I did not brake torque on any runs.

I own a SpecV, it is stock but so far my best time is 15 flat.
my brother has a 2k2 Maxima 6spd with intake.
Trust me, having driven both cars, the 2k2 Maxima -- even being an auto, is going to rip you a new one. Bring the lube

lol hey plano i know u from the vboard...ure the one that convinced me to buy the pulley since u started 50 million threads on it.....lol ok cai pulley...i have a shot against a stock auto...plus i dont think this kid knows how to drive
I think this will be purely a driver's race. Stock 2k2 automagics have run high-14's to low-15's at low-90 trap speeds. And your Spec-V is running a high-14 at a low-90 trap speed.
May the best driver win.

Maybe it was someone else you're talking about.
I'm gonna go with the concensus here. This race will come down to the launch. If you can get off the line good, I think you'll have a chance. The good and bad part of the 2k2 auto is that while it's not as fast as the stick, it's very consistant in it's track times. It's going to be a very close race, but get a good launch and you will have a shot. Just don't put any money on the race.
I'd also like to tell you I think the Spec-V's are awesome cars. Leaps and bounds nicer looking than the other cars in it's class. Very nice car!

That video is of a 99 civic EX 5spd with apexi turbo in the left lane, me in the center lane, and a 00 Pontiac GTP with a few boltons that ran a 13.9 in the 1/4 on the right.
The video is from inside a stock '02 SpecV (planoSER) BUT he had 3 people in his car and started behind everyone else.
Oh yah, its starts from a first gear roll ~15mph.

check out the 1/4 mile forum
its not as much bad drivers as it can be the weather conditions.
also i think most of the better auto times have come with manually shifting.
not much to mess up with an auto...just launch and keep the pedal nailed to the floor
i think you have a pretty good chance of beating the max.

ok
with your STOCK TURANZAS;
lower tire pressure to around 28 psi,
then brake torque to about 1500, and when the lights are green, then release the brake and floor it (all this at the same time); and manually shift 1st - 2nd at redline; time the shift right at 6000rpm cuz it lags and it should shift at 6500, and 2nd gear - 3rd shift at 6,000 again.
make sure you dont peel alot off the line, that the trouble i had tonight, i couldnt beat 15.1, ,and had horrible 60 foot times.
oh well, ,my tires sucked.

i don't understand how you get times like that, in terms of 60' times, those are amazing.
Wegaman, don't be discouraged, it might have been the track and conditions.
when i went to the track, out of 5 maximas, i don't think any of us got under 2.35 60'
it was the last day at the track, and i dont think they cleaned it, so it was slippery from all the burned rubber from the muscle cars..

60' - 2.190
330' - 6.197
1/8 - 9.475@75.70
1000- 12.326
1/4 - 14.734@93.09
with falken azenis sports (the drags) i did a 2.19 60' also, but with the falken azenis ST-115's i had horrible spin and got 2.32 60's

however i doubt you could pull anything close to that at the track i went to...
on the street...i can launch good...and at the track with the same technique i burn out through first (yeah i have crappy goodyear rsa's) but there is still no traction at the track.
i went on the last day...so i don't think they bothered cleaning up
we were all gettign 2.4 60's the whole time.
either that or all of us can't drive for ****.
