Bose Blows??? What to do???

This has got to be the worst sound system in a car I have ever had.
You would think by 2003 they could get this right. Anyway, I'm going to upgrade something, I just don't know what to do first. I currently have Alpine, Focal and JL 5 channel amp in my SC400. Focal has a new line of components and coaxials out that I might try for speaker replacement. I'll probably get another Alpine CDA 7894 if I replace the factory deck. Anyway, looking for opinions first. I know some of you guys have done upgrades instead of full bore replacement. Looking to hear what you have to say.

have you compared the two or are you just saying that? i think my bose sounds fine, but i am going to replace the 8". i'm going to go with a cdt ms-80 which is supposed to sound awesome, only thing is it doesn't have much output.

don't you guys find the sound flat as f*ck, i don't wanna rip out the desk yet since it sits in there so nicely and i'm gonna beef up the suspension before i start the sound , but is there any that has gotten good sound outa that HU by simply replacing the speakers and sub or is it a lost cause?

just want some feedback on wheter there is hope for the stock bose HU

Actually the sub bass isn't that bad until you get into the upper volume. I'm totally dissatisfied with the front staging, if you can call it that. From Focal Utopias to the stock paper cone Bose, well,
there's not much of a comparison. I'm thinking I'll do a speaker replacement first, and then the HU. I've got the Titanium interior and I don't think there going to make a factory double din trim plate that is going to match my interior. May have to go aftermarket and have it sprayed. If anyone has upgraded there speakers first, I sure would like to hear from them.

I don't know about the Bose in the Max...But I can tell you that the Bose in the Altima was rated as the No. 2 stereo in cars 30K and under...I would assume they are pretty similar
