Free Kenwood Sirius gear

Ok, not exactly a Group Deal but it's a good deal nevertheless. Hope it helps someone who's thinking of getting Sirius.

=======================
Free $300 value:
- Kenwood KTC-SR901 Sirius Satellite Receiver
- KCA-R70FM modulator
- CX-SR10 antenna

If you agree to a 1 year contract at $13/month and activate the service for a one time fee of $15.

Call Sirius Satellite Radio at 1-866-310-7234 and mention code SFFHP

The code expires on 12/31/02

Call 888-539-SIRI to activate your unit by 1/31/03

----
edit: Links to Crutchfield is only for information, you're getting the stuff from Sirius.

Re: Free Sirius gear

Thanks for the info. Recently, I've been looking at getting XM or Sirius but I didn't want to flip for the hardware and the subscripiton until later on. With the hardware being free, I think I'm going to jump on this while I still have the chance.

Has anyone mounted the receiver in a 5th gen with stock radio? Where did you place it?

Well, I called Sirius. I called their customer service line and gave them all the info. The offer is legit. It is for their "Retail Partners." Calling that number and giving that code is kind of an "inside" promotion.

IT IS NOT A HOAX.

More info: If you activate your service over the phone, the cost is $15. If you activate via the Sirius website, the fee is only $5.

I don't think you may have to do anything like that, I hope. I have a installer I let do my work so I may let him handle it.

You can do it either way. The simpler way is just to use the FM modulator but there are still some wiring involved IIRC. Splicing some wires so you can use your HeadUnit's RCA inputs just gives you a cleaner signal.

yeah, i found info on the pinout of the cables used, so i know which pins to tap into, but not which wires, so i may not splice any wires, just use some wire wrapping on the din connector, i will let you guys know how it goes when i get mine and if you want i can post a tutorial, i dont think it will be too hard.

I called them yesterday & twice today... and nothing.

They haven't returned my call. I even left a message with the promotion code.

Is there any way I can reach them at another number?... I don't want to miss-out on this offer!

Thanks,
G

02MaXiMa_GLE: I did the same thing at first and they never called me back. I just kept trying until I finally got a hold of them.

THANKS GUYS!...

I called them again today & she said the offer had expired. Then I mentioned that I had called before & she said, oh... ok were you unable to get through?... I told her that I left 4-messages & she recognized my name! She signed me up & said they are getting back to everyone that called & left a message.

For those of you that would like to get in on this deal, you can mention that "You tried getting through, but the no one would pickup on the other end... not even the answering machine" They will probably sign you up, through the end of this week - I'd imagine. Just say that your friend installs Sirius equipment & gave you the promotion code.

The guy finally called me back on the 3rd of January. He was like "we are calling back all people who left messages before the end of the year". They got my info, and are sending me the unit. He said 4-6 weeks, but didn't say anything about having to activate it before the end of January. I guess we'll see.

Anyway, thanks soundmike. Once again, maxima.org ownz the Sirius/Kenwood deal.

Hey I am loved... after all!

As far as mounting it... I was thinking left side of steering column, where I can easily change stations, while driving. But now I think it's a dumb idea. Maybe I can velcro it above the mirror or something?... anyone with any cool suggestions?...

I remember reading a thread not too long ago that he had the controller mounted where his sunglasses holder was. He has not posted any pics of it though.

This may be dumb but if I have a Sirius ready receiver then can't I just run it through that or will I have to run the fm modulated unit?
