Anyone else unhappy with the way new cars look?

When I look at most of the concept cars or new cars that are coming out, the looks make me want to I cannot stand the way many of the new cars look, they're uglier than sin. Concept trucks, like the Silverado SS and the new Ford trucks, cars like the new maxima and cadilacs and whatnot, they all just look so ridiculous and so much different than the way cars look now. Do I stand alone in thinking this? The maxima doesn't look bad from the back or front, but the profile makes it look like an altima I dunno, not all of them look bad, but almost all, they make me just sit and

Some of them are awesome, and some of them suck A$$!!! But, I like the fact that SOME carmakers are willing to grasp a more radical design in cars. For a long time now, we've been stuck in a "k-car type" phase, where it seems like everything on the road is designed by the same people. Seeing fresh designs, even the absolutely ridiculous ones, helps me remember that there really is a future, and it might actually contain a car that I'd be willing to drive!

A concept is a concept plain and simple. it does not mean the car will look exactly like that. i personally didnt like the 350z concept at all when it first came out, they made the headlights look like they were 4ft long same **** with the tails. but the car fourtunatly didnt turn out like the concept and looks pretty good. i hope nissan doest kill the max in 04 but i know what u mean about some of the other concept. the only explination i can think of is that the people who designed the concepts enjoyed a nice bowl or two of cannibus be4 making any decisions.

Make that the rounded "used bar of soap" look that's probably most commonly associated with/blamed on Ford's Taurus. A bold idea in its day that's been overused.

Agreed on the need to see some new thoughts.

I also think that cars in general are getting a bit too tall (and while the mfrs get to use the extra volume to their advantage in advertising and size classification, nobody I know ever uses it all).

Our cars aren't radically shaped to me. The new solara's are pretty tight.

actually, there is not really one car out that I like better than the previous gen except for the Tiburon, now that car is sexxxxy compared to the older ones.....otherwise, companies just tend to make them more and more ugly.....(mainly)

Big-a$$ grills with big-a$$ emblems.

Massive scooping headlight assemblies.

Chrome, chrome, and more chrome.

I think the subtle and understated look of vehicles that came out of the late nineties are the best on the road to look at these days.

The above statement, in no way, is intended to suggest that a '57 Chevy or OE Cobra ain't a sight to see driving down the highway.

Welll...that was kinda the joke. Unfortunately I was never much good at subtle humor.

I agree

Some of the designs of the new cars just aren't for me. I don't like the way the new Max looks and it makes me happy I bought my 2k3. Had I waited until this year I would have never bought the 2004.

All cars are starting to look like bubbles. It seems that they are finally catching on with the George Jetson car...except for the flying part.

Hey guys , change is inevitable. In the 80's going into the 90's many people didn't like the change from the square cut cars to the more rounded roomier cars of the 90's.(Remember how the 1st and 2nd gen Maxima's looked?) The new cars are a new concept that will take time to get adjusted to. Sooner or later you will probably get used to how they look and actually like them.

I guess you can kinda relate this to fashion eras. If I went back to the 60's or 70's those people would laugh at what I'm wearing because they aren't accustomed to seeing it and it is new to them. But in the late 90's to present it's the hottest thing out.

and throw toyota corolla headlights on them.... why the corolla headlights? why not the sti black housing style? the more things change, the more they stay the same.... or start to copy one another...
