Help removing/cleaning 2K MAF
Folks,
I am humbly requesting instructions/guidance in removing the MAF sensor in order to clean. I am doing this as a last resort before going to the dealer for the stalling problem. Alldata does not have instructions on removing the MAF sensor.
I thought I could just remove the 2 secure Torx screws, and the sensor would pull out from the top. Not so; the thing will not budge, and seems secured to the housing at the bottom somehow. I am also concerned about manhandling the wiring harness, which is a ***** to pull off, despite knowing you push the spring load down and pull the connector off. I'm not even sure pulling the connector off will allow me to pull the MAF out.
What am I doing wrong? Also, looking through the air filter box, the screen in front of the MAF looks very clean, and I don't see anything looking very dirty on the MAF with a flashlight. Maybe I'm wasting my time, and the troubles lie elsewhere; I'm pretty sure the vacuum lines are connected OK.
Thank you all, appreciate it.

Re: Help removing/cleaning 2K MAF
No...you are correct. The sensor is difficult to pull out. Keep wiggling it back and forth the best you can while pulling up. It will come off eventually. Then, be sure to clean the inside really good...especially the "s" part that the air flows through. You can even lightly rub the metal sides with a damp q-tip or simply blast it with electrtic parts cleaner all together!!!
Hope that helps...

You da man, Adman. Just popped it out, and it looks pretty clean, damn... But, I doused it with contact cleaner, and it's drying now. Doubt it is my issue, but I do know what to do in the future, since I do use a K&N filter. Maybe the MAF is just flaky, too..
Thank you very much!
