replacing stock tweeters only

There are plenty of thread here about replacing the whole set of components but I don't see anybody replacing just the stock tweeters and keeping the stock 6.5 in the door. I have a non-bose stock HU in a 2k GXE. I am thinking just replacing the stock tweeters and keeping everything else the same. Is there a problem doing this?

I did read some threads on people doing just that, but with the Bose system. If the impedance of the factory speakers you have is 4 ohms, it should not be a problem. You will have to put the capacitor on the power line to filter out the low frequecies (ie bass blocker). Or just take the old one off and solder it on the (+) line of the new one.

However, this is what I noticed on the Bose system. Someone with the stock system should confirm this.
