swap '97 guages w/ '98-99 guages?
would this be possible? would it be plug and play? Reason i'm asking is because i really wanted the digital odometer, and i like how the gas guage needle faces the other way. makes the cluster look better. Just wanted to know if it can be done and if anybody already did/tried it.
I was at the junk yard the other day and I was trying to get som lights from the instrument pannel off a 97 max and I noticed that the plugs are a little different, but i think that if you get the nissan repair manual from both years you can figure them out. The main differnce that I could see was the size of the plugs, not the number of wires

Nope
This can not be doen since your existing odometer is mechanical. The digital odometer information is stored in the ecu of the 98 and 99 Maximas and is displayed only when the car is on. Your ecu, and mine, does not store this information since our odometer is all mechanical, and our ecu does not have this part to store the odometer readings. I mean, you can plug it in and have the guages of a 98 and 99 but without a working odometer, but that is just....well...you know, stupid. Sorry guy
