i am bringing my car into to get the second oil change and tire rotation at 7k miles. Of course the dealer is trying scam me into their 7k service of oil, rotation and balancing for $125.

do i really need to have them balanced?
also i am going to tel them to fix the dash rattle in the cold, the wind noise from the rear doors and the alignment. has anyone had any luck with the dealers fixing those 3 thigns without hassle??

 

From the experience I've had with dealers... if you're paying for one things (i.e. 7K service) you're more likely to get other minor issues fixed than if you came in just to get something minor fixed.

 

You have got to be kidding! Take the car elsewhere for this kind of 'service'. Oil change woudl be about $30.00 (TOPS) and a tire rotation and balance (unless you have a shake or other symptoms, this in not needed) MAY run about $10-$15 a tire, depending on where you go.

If you are going to take it in for some other problems, you may want to have them do an oil change (to make them feel like they got something out of your visit), but that is it!

 

Why not just change the oil yourself, and if you have to get the tires balanced-just go to a reputable tire shop and have it done for under $40? Seems a lot more cost effective than a dealer.
