Custom exhaust system
Custom exhaust system
Im getting a custom job done to my 2002 max, im getting a custom B pipe made 2.5 inches in dia, from the crush bend pipe back to the stock muffler, and custom welded on. The resonator will be left on, im doing this until i can get my Y-Pipe in.
The shop is charging $90
Will i experience any gains? or any HARMFUL results?
thanks

-You should do it but ask him to lower the price, say $60?
Good luck!

I was convinced when saw the crush bend pipe, located right after the B-pipe resonator. I got it done for only $40. It is much cheaper than buying an aftermarket B-pipe. I did notice a better throttle response afterward. No addition noise or any problem so far.

Re: Re: Re: Custom exhaust system
I heard that the most restrictive piece is the b-pipe, not the y-pipe. Someone said in another thread that only having the b-pipe should yeild the same gain as having both a y-pipe and b-pipe.
does this make sense?

Really? Has anyone dyno'd without a y pipe and just the b section changed?? With resonator on or off? Anyone have any insight on this? thanks

I don't think he dyno'd with just the b-pipe but he did mentioned in one of his post that he did not feel (butt dyno) any difference with just the y-pipe, but the did when he also added the b-pipe.
