launch rpm

anyone know the best launch rpm for a 2k3 6 speed Maxima that is TOTALLY stock, including the Bridgestone Pretendaz?

2000 rpm? 2500?

going to the track Sunday if weather permits...might be rainy. I don't want to experiment. I just want to have quality times from the beginning.

I slipped my clutch out at 1500RPM, on stock tires, stock air pressure. My 60' could have been better, but I am still learning this car.

Good Luck.

No one can tell you how to launch. You just have to see what works best for you.

yeah, I can't WAIT until they wear out...but I can't justify it to my wife to spend $600 on some pilots... because what I have are brand new...came with the car ya know...baby on the way takes away from getting the small toys...but I still got my 2k3...thank god I got it before she became pregnant...otherwise I'd still be driving my 1998 Maxima SE autoTRAGIC!

I'm heading to the track tomorrow, will post tomorrow evening...

hopefully the weather will be nice.

jeez!

60ft 2.514
1/4 ET 14.99 @ 94.4

ELEVATION- 1000ft
TEMP- 72 F

My 60ft was consistantly horrible, no matter what RPM I launched from.
On the 14.99 Run, I had MAD wheel hop, and an average (for me) 60ft.

My worst 60ft was when I tried launching at 1500 rpm, just kept spinning...suprisingly (to me) the higher the launch rpm, the better off I was. My Best ET, I launched at 2500. But at 3000rpm I had what felt like my best run, until I got back and it was only 15.3....

So launching at a reasonable higher rpm is good thing??? eliminates wheel hop/tire spin???...

There is an art to slipping/feathering the clutch out so you don't get any chirp or spin. You just need to have some more practice.

when i launched at 2500rpm, that's when I had bad wheel hop...but I don't know that it was necessarily related to the rpm...so much as how fast I let out the clutch...

I am confused myself...I would like to have had more time to run...and some coaching...but I'm learning on my own...if you know what I mean..
