Hi -

I have a 95 GLE with about 130K, and am looking to upgrade to a 2000/2001 SE. I need your help because there are so many other cars in this category and price range. I wanted to convince myself that another Maxima is the way to go. For one thing at least I know how to do the maintenance on it. Those of you who own a 5th generation maxima what do you think? Should I opt for an SE or stick to the GLE? Of course I could save even more money going with the GXE. One last thing what is a good price to pay for a 2001 GLE with about 30K miles.

I've been told this many times so I'll pass this advice on to you.
Try the search fuction..

 

Try to get one with under 30k so that you can get any TSB's done to it that you need, i.e. transmission slip(auto), warped rotors, etc,etc.
I got mine in Sept 02 with 15k on it. SuperBlack, gray interior, meridian package and 100k extended warranty for $18. Pretty reasonable.

I would say that two of the biggest problems on the 2K and 2K1's are the rotors and the crappy tires. If you like to drive stick, you will love the five speed! If you can find one, the 2k1 AE's are nice Good luck and remember, the Potenza RE92 tires suck.
