i have an 87 maxima and the dash lights don't work and the lights on the heater controls don't work. I checked the fuses and they are fine. The little a/c button and the radio and eq still have lights. Does this have to do with the dimmer switch or headlight switch? Or is it a relay or something. Thanks for any help.

 

Very likely you got bulbs burnt out. It's not uncommon for them to burnout for that age of car. I have to replace the bulbs for my heater controls, just gotta find time to do it. I already did my dash bulbs back in feb. 2002.

you think all the bulbs would go at the same time...Seems kind of odd to me.

 

Actually, that wouldn't be true, they may all fail in the same general time, but not always. It really depends on the type of bulb, and it's quality, how it's installed, etc.
