My passenger air bag cover rattles intermittently. It sounds like the metal hinge. I've removed the glove box to look underneath. I'm affraid to trigger the bag. I tried putting silicone on what looks to be the top hinge. That didn't work. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? I performed a search, but only found cosmetic/paint problems.

 

You cannot trigger the bag, only the SRS system computer can trigger it. If you unplug it, don't turn the ignition on or you'll set the Air Bag light.
