Why is it when i am driving down the road, my seat belt chime and light spontaneously comes on and off. My sisters 91 sentra has the same problem, she also has automatic seatbelts.

 

We have a '93GXE that has the same problem. I've fiddled with it enough to narrow it down to the contacts being loose in the moving carrier along the door frame. It's on my list of things-to-do (taking it apart and fixing), probably all that is necesary is to spread the contacts back out a bit.

 

u guys should really do a search...subject has been beaten to death.
most likely its the seatbelt limiter switch.

 

ya i have that problem too, even though my lapbelt is on tight, sometimes the chime and light comes on and the light usually stays there for about couple of minutes....anyone know whats wrong or what the problem is and how can i fix it?
