Do you think 4th Generations will stand the test of time?
I knows its a bit of an odd thread but im a semester from entering my last semester in college and depending on what i do when i graduate i always think about either keeping my car (96 Max 59k milles) until i get a job where i can better afford a newer car or buying a new one out of college.
I know its shallow but i want to still have a slick ride and i wonder if 4th generation maxes will still be as stylish as they are now when 2003 and 2004 comes around.
Just a thought.

Ok I'll be the "guy" to go out on a limb here. I think the 4th gen maxima's styling is a bland typical mid 90's car. The look is decent but quite generic. The thing I see going for it is that awesome engine and nissan's great build quality. So do I think it will be stylish in 5 years? Well not really.
Anyhow take it for what its worth, but I love our Max, its a great car, just lacking in the style department.
Wizeguy - Enjoy the ride

If you are talking about whether the car will still be running in 5 years, the answer is yes. Don't expect it to be perfect though...by then it will be like a ten year old car and most ten year old cars have problems in one form or another.
I agree

Think simple...
The whole reason people Mod there car to begin with is a result of their dissatisfaction with the way it looks/performs. If you put enough work into the car to make it a one-of-a-kind automobile, then it will surely stand the test of time. The new 5th Gens still haven't captured the "wow" that 3rd Gens had. The fact that the 6th Gen won't come until around 2005, and your tricked-out 4th Gen gets more double takes than a 5th Gen, leads me to believe that they'll keep shining for a while.
