Those who installed OBX catback...

I'm getting mine installed tomorrow and was wondering what i need to do to get the tip to line up right, and to avoid having the b pipe hang too low. I tried to search, but i didn't find the right info.

Thanks,

Ken

Get them to reweld the end that connects to the cat.

Ya what he said above. You need a good shop that can weld stainless steel, most shops don't even want to touch it. They are so ****ing worried about messing it up, the install it wrong.

It does but it is croked(sp) and thats why the B-pipe hangs so low.

cool thanks... I'm taking to a shop i used to work at, so i trust them to do a good job. I remember reading about some way to get the tip centered by using some type of clamp from home depot. Anyone know about this?

the clamps like the ones used on the franken car midpipe. you tighten them with a flathead. get a few of those.

meineke melted part of the piping making it soft to turn and we were able to shift it upwards to fit into the pipe weld....

as far as the tip, let them install it to the best of their ability and use clamps to tighten rubber hoses holding the muffler. Depending on how u tighten u can make the muffler tip connect to the bumper for a nice looking fit. thats what i did...

i got it installed and i love it. It sounds great... just loud enough. As far as the install, it went alright. It took a little messin around with to get it to fit, but overall its pretty good. The tip is a little off, but i think some clamps should do the trick. Thanks everyone for the info

Yea...get two 3" hose clamps(yes, a regular hose clamp like the ones used on radiator hoses). Home Depot sell them for like $1. Put one around each of the rubber muffler mounts. When you tighten them, it will pull the tip towards the side you're tightening. You'll understand when you see the rubber mounts.

Sil, if you got the money order from the PO, take the reciept back to the PO and report it lost. I think you can fill out a claim to get your money back.
