2k2 headlight to 2k1

ok i have a 2k2 max, just got into an accident, and i was going to replace my HID's with the 2k1 aniv. edition headlights.

i got the 2k1 headlights, and put them in with the CORRECT CLIP and find out that there about an inch too far in.

talking to bigdogjonx, he told me of someone who has had SUCCESS with this conversion. if anyone knows who did this can u please let me know.

the reason i was doing this was 1) don't have 500 bucks for another 2k2 light and 2) living in nyc, i just want peace of mind.

you need the 2k1 bottom clips as well.. they will run you about <$10. you can try to pry your 2k2 clips up without snapping them, but you will most likely break them.. again, they only cost $10 to replace, so dont worry too much if they snap while prying.

Tim, I talked to him for a good while, he said he used the clips, and he said the light is sitting too far in, which seems odd, he is supposed to send me some pics to see if I can help him. He also saying the back of the light aint clearing and wont sit right.

I've replaced my 2k3 HIDs with 01 headlights. I should say that I'm in the process. I still have some wiring to take care of, but they are physically installed.

There is going to be a bit of an overhang of the bottom bumper. It doesn't look perfect but it still looks pretty good. I'll try to snap some pics. When I'm all done, I'll probably just buy some rubber insulation to lay across the bottom to ensure a tight fit and that no water enters under the hood.
