help...i found a tear in leather...warranty question

the wife noticed a tear on the back left hand side of the driver seat...i am so choked. i can't figure out how i could have done that...then upon closer observation, i noticed that on the seam between the side piece and back piece there is some cracking visible at the stitch. Now the tear is nowhere near the cracking, could nissan void my seat warranty? The car has 34000kms, well below the 60000km....

Like anything, your mileage will vary at the dealer :/ But I read there are replacement covers available. I bet they arent *too* bad. Call Dave B if they do want to actually charge you to fix it.

He got a job at a different dealer. I believe he picked up where he left off.

tearing at seams fixed udner warranty

At about 15K miles I noticed the leather peeling at the seams on my drivers side seat.

I took it in and they relaced it under warranty.

Funny thing is - the servie advisor was kind of a young guy and he had the opinion that if you buy the top of the line Nissan you should expect the car not to have those kinds of flaws - he fought and got the cover replaced under warrranty.

Of course the kid no longer works at that dealer - I think they were afraid of getting a good service reputation.

Bottom line - it has been replaced or the seam problem - not sure what to tell you about the tear, but since it is all one slip in piece I guess your problem would be solved. It only takes them like 30 mintues to do it once they get the new seat cover.

A buddy of mine used a leather repair on his Pathfinder. The results were nothing short of amazing. You'd never know anything was repaired.

I had a similar problem with my AE seat. Cracking and tearing at the seam between teh back and side bolster right where you get in. Pretty ugly and would only get worse. I called a dealership here in Houston (Mossy) and the service writer actually worked with me and the service manager and they replaced the seat cover under warranty. A nearly $1,000.00 part according to the parts list and it did take them about 2 months to get it in from Japan (black perforated AE seats they don't really stock). Took it in, got it back the same afternoon and $0.00 bill. I was SHOCKED!!

are AE seats any different from 2k2 seats?

and harry, I thinkt taht sunridge nissan would fix it for you, their service is actually pretty good (from waht I have experienced). They have no reason not to fix it for you because the car is UNDER warranty..isn't warranty supposed to cover everything under normal use? well, i don't think you took knife to your seat...if they don't help you out, i'll go and talk to em too....

btw, nice weather we havin up here eh?
