Hey folks,

I have a stock 96 GLE with 65k original miles on it. Latley my tranny seems to be dragging (automatic tranny) when shifting into drive or overdrive. I brought it to the dealer who drove it and said he noticed a little slag, but nothing major. He said if it's what he thinks it is it may need a complete rebuild to the tune of $1800!

Is that normal for a tranny with 65k on it? I don't tow, drag, or anything. This Max is babied! A friend told me that's a known problem with Maxima's because the engine is too powerful for the tranny.
