If you have nothing else to do. Post any cars you believe, have beaten in a race, or heard of a 4th generation maxima beating in a race. This may turn into a list of cars we can bully and cars we better stay away from list ..ha ha !!

You see this is an unfair thread. If you mean stock to stock then you should be able to beat and 4 cylinder non-turbo car easily.
Sometimes the GS-T & GSX eclipses. WRX stock may or may not win.
There are too many factors involved. You don't know mods that people have done to their car.
There is this place where if you have a CRX you can send it to them and just on engine work that they do, can get the car up to 300-400hp.
I mean there have been ones that have beaten mustangs and others that have been stomped by them.

4th Gen 5spd: 14.7-15.5, 15.2 typical stock
4th Gen auto: 15.6-16.3, about 16.0 typical stock

Now go to www.autosite.com or www.car-stats.com and lookup what other cars run. Better yet, go to the forums for the cars and see what actual owners get. Some cars run significantly better than mag times suggest, while other cars (particularly Honda's with manual tranny's) usually run much slower than the mag times suggest.

A 190HP 5spd Max can run the same exact high-14/low-15 times at the track as a 260HP Acura, which I think it pretty interesting. So a CL-S/TL-S auto is fair game.

Eclipse(talon, laser) non-turbo models, Not sure about the new V6 model
Accord up to 2003 and probably hang with 03 automatic
civics
integras, except the "type R" I guess
celica maybe not the new GT or the older all-trac turbo
like said before WRX is a 50/50
all neons except the new SRT
6 cylinder mustangs and camaros a 50/50

checking out the link to 1/4 dragstrips

hey im no racer, but it sure sounds like fun . i was looking at strips in my area and there are 3 all about 75-80 miles away. Since I have no experience. I have a few questions. These places will let me run my car in the 1/4 mile. Now can I do a timed run or do you have to enter into a bracket. what kind of money are we talking? Also do you have to wear a helment? would a be an idiot to drive 80 miles and then race my car or do you look more professional to pull up in a truck and trailor with your max on the back, but then again. I might get laughed at...Someone would be like ..look at all that over there and the guy only has a stock 97 maxima ..or ypipe, bpipe thing .... any info on what the whole ordeal is like would be great ...sounds like a bunch of fun ...also what all do you take along ...an extra set of tires and some cokes ? But overall racing, finding out what my car can do, and getting it on our camcorder would be great fun ...

Get their early so you can turn your car off and let it cool down. Trailers are for people who who have full race cars or have slicks that can't drive on the street.
Tracks vary on admission fee the place I'm near costs $30.
Usually helmets are only mandatory if your ET is fast like under 14.000 or something.
Yes you can do a timed run just make sure you find out the schedule of when timed runs are ok.

I thought the S2000 could beat us?? Even though this thread is gonna get locked soon, this would probably be a more interesting comparison if it was between 4-door N/A cars...

some 4 cylinders that would beat us if driven properly are the rsx-s, celica gts would maybe tie, ITR, s2000, we could take a lude

no other n/a 4 bangers come to mind

all of this is in comparison manual to manual 4th gen max.

My friend has an automatic 92 Prelude and man that thing has some ***** for a 4 cyl. From a 30 to 70 mph roll, he put half a car on me and I have an intake (also have a a heavy a$$ system) but then we did it again and I got him. Surprised me though a lot.

Considering the prelude has less hp, less torque, and more weight, that's pretty weak.

BTW everyone forgot to mention that we can take the 1986 Toyota Corolla and the 88 Ford Festiva...

i know its not stock, but there's a guy we see around the tracks in NC that has a late 70's, early 80's toyota corrola that runs 11's - 12's in the 1/4.

only b/c you always drive like you are racing. if all of us lived our lives a 1/4 mile at a time, we could all be great racers like you.

The only way you'll beat a stock wrx is if the driver of the wrx sucks. I've only been down the strip once 14.825 @ 94.74mph which really sucks but I've heard that there has been a few stock wrx's run 13.9's. Most people that have my setup run 13.3-13.7 once they learn how to launch, something I need to learn. I guess I did ok since it was my first time down the track. Basicly it's like any car, it comes down to who is driving.
