NE1 installed a 3.5VQ in a 4th Gen

I was just wondering if ne1 had tried this or considered it
over a supercharger. There must be wrecked Altima's somewhere
where you could pull the 245HP 3.5V6 including the 5 sp trans
or even the 255HP version out of a 5th gen Maxima including the
6 sp trans. Just a thought

Thx, TMeyers-Colorado 97 SE 5sp

I don't know what the difference is between the Altima 3.5 engine and the maxima one is but I think the Altima one would be easier becuase it is actually the same tranny right? Just different mounts or something so they would not even need the tranny just the motor, throttle body, manifold, ect......

Well isn't the the stuff from the 3.5 all controlled electronically, so the wiring is diferent, I know nothing about cars or electronics but won't that get in the way. Can you use just the motor? and use like a throttlebody off of a Pathfinder like Madi Gras. Are the motor mounts the same? Those can be easily switched though I am sure. Just finding the engine is probally going to be the hard part, I think someone should try if they know what they are doing.

I dont't think its worth at all.
First of all a tranny/engine combo would run you at least 3-5 Grand.
Second install would be a nightmare. $$$
And last you can just throw on a supercharger and you're making more HP than a 3.5VQ

It might be possible but no bang for the buck.
