I am buying the stillen kit what else do I need?

Okay I have decided I am going to supercharge, and going to buy the kit in the very near future> I wanted to know what else i need to buy besides the necessary tools to install. I am probably going to get a 3.33 pulley or 3.25; i know i need to buy that too. What else do I need? Where should I get guages, guage pods? Is there anything else i should get that doesnt come in the kit???

gauges...I would start with EGT and fuel pressure. you can save money for boost gauge later. try grupp-s.com for A'pexi gauges or optauto.com for autometer gauges.

gauge pod - custommaxima.com? or you can always use tape.

pulleys....3.33 is still pretty safe. but the power that the 3.25 or 3.125 gives you is much different than that of the 3.33. dont forget that you will need shorter belt.

BOV and flange.

and the most important ones : metal tensioner and idler pulley.

a full cat-back system will be nice

everything I listed?

SC is 3700.

gauges are from 400 - 700 depends on which brand you choose (btw, it is gruppe-s.com)

tensioner and idler pulleys are 150? smaller SC pulleys plus belt is 80 dollars.

BOV and flange are 210 approx.

cat back is 450 or you can get the warspeed fixed b-pipe (200) and keep stock muffler.

it's about 5300 plus install.

Well, let's see.

Stillen V2 kit: $3400 from Avalon
3.25" pulley: 60 from Vortech
belt: 10 guessing
metal pulley: 60 another guess
EGT gauge: 125
Fuel pressure gauge: 180
Boost gauge: 50

Total: $3885 not counting shipping and sales tax

You can get a cat back for $650 or so, so total cost is around $4500.

I just bought all this stuff and am installing it this weekend...
  • Stillen Supercharget Kit - ~$3300
  • Autometer Boost, EGT, FP Guages - ~$400
  • Greddy Type S-BOV & Flange - ~$220
  • ASP Racing idle & tension pullies - $160

That's all I really needed for the SC...totals just over $4000.

In addition I have purchased:
  • Walbro HP fuel pump - ~$100
  • ACT Clutch - ~$300
  • Permacool Oil cooler - ~$80
  • Autometer Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, A/F guages - ~$150

A lot of this stuff I had purchased because I was using Nitrous before (Guages, Fuel Pump, Clutch) and were going to be needed anyways.

I also have had a full exhaust for quite some time now, so didn't need to purchase one.

I also do ALL of the installs myself, which can save you a lot of money.

Hope that helps. It ain't cheep!

Like ejj said, install it yourself or get someone to help you, it will save you a lot of money. When I had my SC, a shop quoted me $700 for the install! Crazy! I said **** them and installed it myself. I never done such a big install, but I took my time and never regret doing so. I learn quite a bit too by doing the install myself.

Not needing an intercooler is good! Although I have to admit a FMIC gives a car a pretty lethal look to it.

Incomplete how? Warning and peak features? That would be nice to have. It's not easy keeping on eye on tach, boost, fuel pressure and EGT, the road and that flaky guy about to change lanes all at the same time.

dont you have to buy the probe separately?
the apexi comes with the probe and everything needed to get it working. The warning, memo and peak feature. the warning feature when you hit what ever temp you set it at it will begin to blimk very fast you will see it thru the corner of your eye. The meme is if your at the track or what ever it will memorize the movement of the needle moving up and down so you can monitor your temp safely. Peak you can go and press peak and see what was the highest temp you reached after a run or what ever and reset it etc...

The autometer EGT gauge I bought included the probe.

autometer 5744

I would love to have the warning and peak features, though.
