Does anyone with a Stillen oil cooler know the size of the fittings that it uses on the lines?

Bill, these are referring to permacool, and I am not certain that Permacool's setup and Stillen's setup are similiar in that respect. I too searched and didn't come up with a answer specifically relating to the Stillen kit, with their "no-name" filter sandwich adapter, and unidentifiable cooler.

Anyone else?

 

Perhaps $tillen sucks or is overpriced and everyone went with Perma-cool?








In reality, Keving could answer your question in 2 seconds but is choosing not to right now.

 

I used -8 lines... -8 120 degree bend fittings off the sandwich adapter (probably 1/2 NPT)...

You need to find out what the fittings are for the cooler.

I don't think Keving has the answers, but maybe he should give me the link to his Permacool kit so I can get that instead.

No I need to make sure I get the right Sandwich adapter If I am going to swap coolers.

PS? That is probably an overkill since you already have aluminum lines for it.

I bought the fittings from a local shop, but I can give you the Aeroquip part numbers. Rubber hoses suck!

4 FCM2008 -8AN flare 1/2 NPT
2 FCM1013 -8AN hose ends (you may want to locate a good spot for the cooler before buying these)
2 FCM1043 -8AN 120 degree hose ends

 

Aluminum? Huh? Mine are rubber, going to the aluminum U shaped tube, coming back out as rubber. I have the hard alumium lines going into the Pump if I am correct, but not going to the cooler.

Yeah, I was talking about the aluminum U tube. Gotcha... you want to go all out bling bling and do SS lines for everything. I thought about but my hands/fingers said no from being pricked so many times.

The PS hoses look to be -6... can't use hose ends on the plastic reservoir but you can use straight ends on the new threaded cooler (or 90 degree hose ends... depends how you're mounting it).

 

Which size?

 

I am not sure if I am going to do SS for the PS, but it would be nice, although if not properly held down, would prolly rattle like a ****.

I have the issue now with the Oil Press guage, the SS line for it rattles to high hell. I am going to buy stock in a zip tie company.

I have had the stillen cooler for over 2 years now

I am looking to go to a dual pass cooler to clean up the routing of the lines, and I want to get away from the rubber lines to Stainless steel lines for some more show appeal (Bling Bling) So I am considering switching from the Stillen kit that I already have to a different, obviously custom setup and I need to pester Keving for some more info.

 

Bought a B&M cooler and boxed the PermaCool kit.

There's a polished one on that site? No but there is in Kevina's car, so either he bought it that way or paid for the bling bling, that's what I need to know.

I have the Stillen one that will be installed next week... dont know exactly how it will work but we replaced the stock rubber lines w/SS ones already...I'll let you know how it goes.
