New ball bearing Garrett GT30/40 turbo installed

finally installed new turbo, heres a couple pics including comparasion to my previous T3/To4e turbo. cant tell much by how they look externally cept the new one is very clean. The ball bearing turbo definetely spools quicker and is louder. im happy, expect for how much it cost.

sorry im not a very good picture taker and these pics arent detailed either.

Did the turbine flange bolt right up? What RPM are you hitting .51 bar at?

Thanks.

Re: New ball bearing Garrett GT30/40 turbo installed

Hi Matt

Not criticizing, but should have taken the exhaust side blades, I believe that is where the big difference is (besides the BB)! My new turbo finally shipped today, it's been 2 months ... can't wait to see what it does! Congrats on your turbo and be safe!

sup Nigel

the only difference that i could see with the eye is the exhaust outlet was maybe 1-2mm bigger. I dont take good pics and arent very detailed anyways. oh well

Hmm, that's odd! I'll take pictures of mine when it arrives. I have seen one, the blades are not thin wafers anymore but rather thicker rounded ones for aerodynamics. Maybe more than one type of GT series I guess! Haha! I love the icon ... hello?? AAA? Get a new cell!
