Xenon vs plasma headlight bulbs?

I noticed you can replace your halogen headlight bulbs w/ xenon or plasma bulbs. What's the difference and what do the sizes mean, ie. 9005;9004;9006;9007;H1;H3;H4;H7? I have a 2000 SE.

Thanks, T

True Xenon requires a special high capacity discharge system. Its probably just the Xenon "look" bulbs. You'd have to change you're wiring harness for true Xenon lights.

you'd need more than a harness...True HID requires a ballast, D2R or D2S capsules, special wiring and I know the older systems required ignitors.....

If you want real HID, go for a conversion kit or buy 2k2-2k3 HID housings w/everything.

Xenon look bulbs give off less light than regular halogen bulbs, look fake and can fry your harnesses due to extra current draw.

Newbie,
Your bulb sizes are as follows:
H4=headlights
H3=foglights
Happy modding.
