successful VI install....but couple questions

I installed a VI for CalSonicSE's Max this past thursday but i got a couple questions.

Ok, when the car is on, vaccum is applied keeping the butterfly valves open, when the desired RPM is reached, vaccum is cut and the butterfly valve closes providing shorter path thus making power to redline. If all of what im assuming is correct, why would you need the vaccum canister? doesnt seem to make sense to me....hummmm

From what I understand it's the other way around. Even though it doesn't make as much sense. Vaccum is applied only after the RPM switch goes off. That means the butterflies stay closed in the lower RPMs and open at high RPMs. I know it looks like the runners actually get longer but it works some how.

Yeah, it's the other way around, vacuum opens the butterfly valves at high rpm. You need the vacuum can because you don't have much vacuum at WOT and high rpm. Actually, your car gets negative vacuum under those conditions.

its either backwards or your describing it backwards.. closed the actuator is up against the stop... when they open they pull down (towards the floor).

ok mega confused here

so the butterfly valves close at low rpm and then OPEN at high rpm?

when the actuator touches the stopper on the VI, are the valves opened or closed?

Without vacuum applied, the spring in the actuator keeps the butterfly valves closed. At high rpm the Harlan switch sends voltage through the Dawes device, which sends vacuum to the actuator, opening the valves.

closed like they should be (low rpm).
flipped open (off the stop) at x rpm to use the chamber.
