Does you car fit you and your personality?

Just wondering...some of my co-workers are amazed that I drive the car that I do. I guess I don't fit the sterotype that my car gives off. They figure me for a big SUV or Mustang/American Muscle type guy...go figure.

Does your car fit you?

i think my car sorta suits me. Me previous 2 cars ('90 eclipse GS-turbo, 95 Ford Probe GT) were obvious sporty 2 doors. I was just sick of that and wanted a nice comfortable decently fast midsize 4-door car. I wanted a Jetta Turbo (but too much) and an Audi A4 (wasnt crazy about the style) but then i wanted a Max once i saw them and their powerplant. I was impressed by the 5-speed option alone. My budget was around a max 10Gs (since im still in school, the most i could afford) and a dealer told me i would never find a 98-99 for that price. needless to say i did.

It suits me

Definitely not. Most people think I drive a Civic. Hm...I wonder why...maybe because I'm Asian?! I told them the Maxima is my first import. I had a Chevy and a Pontiac before the Maxima. They were very surprised. My older brother used to have a very fast Chevy Nova. We were not the typical Asian family. Now...I'm not sure. My brother and sister both drive a V6 Accord, one is a '99 and the other is a '00. And I drive a Maxima. My dad drives a Dodge van though.

I'd have to say my car fits me pretty well. It's subtle, but to the point. It blends in well, but most people know something is up.

I pointed out a new black BMW 745 sitting on 20" Breytons a few months back (KC football player) and she said, "that is the most beautiful car I've ever seen and that totally fits your personality".

Hey Steve, thanks for posting that personality test. It describes me perfectly and I'm a "scientist" like you. Guess what I do in real life? Environmental Scientist for an engineering company My fate was sealed.

i have a good amount of asian friends and if we are ever sitting somewhere and someone asks about the car they always assume its my friends car and not mine.. i just let them go along with it.

i guess the car fits me because im tall, i couldnt see myself in a honda 2000 or something small.

i'm asian 18 yrs old driving a black family sedan =X i always wanted modded car tat both has show and performance, not to mentioned i'm always inspired by GS-Rs and type-Rs, they are both cars relatively easy for both show and performance... at least for a asian FOB (fresh outta boat) i think it's suitable...

but ever since i got the maxima i spent quite awhile tryin to let my surroundin friends to appreciate it more than jus a 4-dr family sedan, also showin them analysis of max's powerful mid-end HP/TQ is somethin civics/integras doesn't have... and maxima has gradually fit me thru-out times =)

lol yea my fam aint too typical too. My dad drives a ford ranger my mom a sentra. Interesting day today. A classmate from one of my classes said she saw me and ask me if drove a white accord and i knew exactly what she was talking about cuz this morning i parked right next to a souped up white accord and me a white maxima. pretty funny how people generalize people how they look to their cars.

I don't know if a car fits ones personality or more their lifestyle. The only thing I can think of as far as how a Maxima could relate to personality is I think you'll find that the Maxima owner is conservative, that is, the opposite of somebody who buys an A6 or 530. If you want to get down to it, the word is cheap!! BUT, that doesn't have to have the negative connotation that it usually does. I know of 2 SR vP's at my co. that drive 5th gens. I happen to know they have very expensive homes, so I bet every 10-20 grand counts. Unless you lease, as I've said before, you need lots of money to have an expensive car. After all, no matter who we are, we only have so much income.

Anyhow, as far as lifestyle goes, the Maxima does not fit mine (the seats don't fold and I have a dog). But I got it when it had the big rebate, I just finished grad school, and wanted a stick. My lifestyle would be better suited by a Pilot EX. Why not an MDX, RX330, X5, or Cayenne Turbo? That fat a** mortgage pymt that's north of 2500.

[SNL] And now deeeeeeeeeeep thoughts, with SteVTEC [/SNL]

Hmmm...so how does this apply to me driving a Maxima. Well, I am an extreme introvert so I guess that means I like understated (stock looking cars) which is pretty much true (although I do appreciate massively fixed up ones, that's just not me). I also like different ways of doing things. Whereas the rest of the import scene seems to go for higher horsepower per liter, I find happiness in just the opposite of that. The rest of the world likes automagics. I like a manual. HA! Go figure. Back to introvertedness. I like cars that look good on the inside (engine, interior) and don't care nearly as much about how it looks on the outside. The Maxima has never been a truly beautiful car (IMO), so that fits. Thinking - you research consumer reports and buy the best car that fits your needs regardless of brand name or loyalty to a certain brand. Dayum! That's me!!!

So I guess the Maxima is a good car for me.

cars that fit me

Most people said I fit right at home when I was driving my 93 Corolla...I guess that makes me small and impotent

No but really when it came down to choosing a car, it was either Accord, Camry, or Maxima and a lot of people are surprised by my choice. A lot of my friends think I'm more of a Camry person, sane and sensible, but passionless (funny how girls tell me that too ).

I guess the Maxima doesn't really fit me but I still love it
