bmw 330i 2k2

How fast is that car. Was trying to find some info on the internet. Found that it 225hp 0-60 in 6.5 sec.
Is that correct. Will maxima take him.

As in most threads like this....

1. Don't trust magazine times.
2. Depends on tranny's, mod's, etc.
3. Depends on driver.
4. For the sake of all, do this crap at a track.

Money or no money, let us know who wins. This should be a very evenly matched race auto to auto, provided that you are running a 2k2 or 2k3... You aren't talking a 2k or 2k1 are u??? If so, stock to stock u would get beat. On a 2k2 or 2k3 however, it depends a lot on driver and launch. Good luck.

It wil be a close race and yeah it all depends on a lot of other factors. I have driven my friends 330ci and man it takes off when you put into some performance mode.(some switch).

He stated that the car in normal mode starts out in second gear. dont know about that.

BMW all the way tough.. but max close behind...

BMW is supposed to be revamping the 330 this spring. They mention "agressive styling" but no mention of more power. Hopfully the latter will accompany it. I LOVE that car, but could not justify spending $10k more (at least) for a car that is slower than the Max (most people say Max will kill it strait run, 330ci will win in the twisties). Oh, that and the economy blows.

I'm pretty sure the next car after my Max will be a BMW. I'm leaning toward the a$$-expensive M3 for performance but might consider a 330ci if it had 260-280 HP.

When I test drove it (3 people including myself) you could really feel the lack of low end torque. Handled very nice, but not the power of my 2k3 6-sp SE.

Do you mean economy like the economy right now in the country, or fuel economy? Wouldnt the BMW get better gas mileage? What are people seeing for mpg on their 2k2-2k3 maxes?

7.1 to 60

That was for the Auto

04 Max 6speed
0-60 6.5
1/4 mile 15.00 @95.4mph

Good but not great...

b/c they are--magazine times mean almost nothing when comparing

conditions at tracks are always different and the drivers will sometimes drop the clutch an unreasonable amount for some cars and not at all for others--just go to the track or read what people online get for times

yeah i know that. but i was wondering if it was road and track or motor trend. because road and track typically has slow #'s.

On the stock Craptenza tires it will be pretty close because of your lack of traction. Start from a Roll and you should take him.

Sorry, meant money-economy. But now that you mention it, the Max eats gas due to my lead-footitis. Unless of course I got a hole in my tank as soon as the break in period was over

If you need to ask, then you shouldn't be gambling with it.
