Where's my Frankencar?

Okay, I've been reading posts here for a while and I've seen that some peeps had to wait a while to get their Frankencar intakes, especially with the Apexi filter. I ordered mine almost five weeks ago now and there's been no sign of it, no email or phone call letting me know whats up. Their site said a while back that the filters were on backorder and set to arrive on April 1st. The message has since been taken down and no new info posted. Does anyone know what is going on at Frankencar, or how long you really gotta wait? You guys say its worth the wait so I'll stick it out, but man, nothing should take so long to ship.

I read the same thing about the backorder on filters. I didn't feel like waiting so i just went with a Firm Fabrications intake.

I'm not sure if you're interested, but I ordered an intake from Firm Fabrications. The service I received was impeccable -- very quick and courteous responses to all my inquiries, and the shipment was promptly sent out and received by myself in CANADA within 4 days of my initial order placing.

Very professional service and good looking product. IF you are looking for another intake, you may want to try them at www.firmfabrications.com , I dealt with Jeff.

I don't know much about Frakencar other than it seems to be the popular choice. I'm guessing there must be a reason for that
But personally speaking, I fired off two email inquiries and didn't get a single response (and still haven't) -- that was a turnoff for me. When you write to "sales@" .. you expect SOME kind of response, at the very least acknowledging that they received your email.

Good luck in your dealings with them.

i emailed back and forth with jeff for a while regarding the 2k and 2k1 pipes. i guess they were too busy to actually get it out. but he was prompt and certainly courteous in his correspondence.

good choice on the firm intake. it's essentially the same as my frankencar intake, but i really dig the integrated maf.

btw, did they provide a bit to remove the sensor from the stock maf housing?? i cracked mine and want to replace the housing but i'm not sure how i'm going to remove the sensor.

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand the Q .. ? What do you mean by a "bit to remove the sensor" ? I haven't actually installed it yet as I REALLY want to get the hesitation fix done first I don't want my shady dealer to blame it on the intake.

o, you know, like a hex bit. some tool to remove your stock sensor from the stock housing. if you look at the two screws holding it in, they look like torx pattern bolts, but with a security nub right in the middle. i was just wondering if firm sends something to take care of that. and if not, what their instructions say about removing them.

thanks.

Okay, I read the sticky and I see that its not Frankencar's fault because of the filter situation. I'm not gonna cancel because its been this long, might as well ride it out. I did look at the firm fab intake when I was deciding, but the general consensus here seems to point towards Frankencar. I also wanted the Apexi filter. Speaking of which, they should be here by April 25.. but wait, it was April 1. I guess I'll just have to put it out of my mind for a while to come.
