Attenion 18x8.5 w/35mm offset wheel owners

Probably a rare breed, but I'm hoping someone here has that combo..

What springs do you have and do you rub? Also what tire size do you have on there? 235/40/18?

Thanks in advance!

Ive heard of some1 using up to 255 width on 18's w/o getting any rubbing so I dont think you should have any problem. I have the stock wheels with 235/45's on em and the stock offest it 45mm and Im getting no rubbing what so ever. Im sure you can go 245's without any problems at all. 245/40/18 should be about what you should be lookin 4.

Yes, but how low did that person go?

Also, stock offset is 45, but that is WAY tucked in.. 35mm sticks out almost flush with fender..

I'm not looking for tires, I'm looking for springs.. I have 235/40/18s on now..

I'm running 255/40 in Rear on 38mm Offset with H&R springs. Its close but not close enough to rub. On 35mm Offset with 255 you might be pushing it.

hey Pioneer, can I ask why you run wider tires in the back than the front considering the Maxima is FWD??

I'm guessing you're going for a wider look??

I'm a drift happy fool. Wider tires in back makes it harder for the backend to come out on hard turns. Looks are allright, but handling of the car changes with wider tires in back, lot more understeer.

Hey maxcosity,
I myself is wanting to get rims that are 18 x 18.5 with 35mm offset. It will probably be around Christmas before I get these rims. Please let me know when you get them on and how everything turned out. I was considering 19 x 8.5, but 19" rims just seem too big and I don't want a tire that is 1/2" thick.

Oh they are already on and they are perfect. I, too, had hoped to get 19s since I figured 18s just didn't look that much bigger than 17s..

I finally decided that 18s are more versatile and less prone to being damaged.. Also the tire prices for 18s is still reasonable, but when you jump to 19s or 20s, the tire prices skyrocket.. they're also MUCH harder to find which might cause you some grief if you blow a tire some day..

Also it was much easier to find the wheel style I wanted in 18s than 19s.. There are so few choices with 19s, it almost made me want to go to 20s..

I have 235/40/18 tires on and I did notice a little harsher ride, no doubt, due to the smaller tires, but it is still very comfy and 95% close to stock..

Once I get springs, it will be dramatically different and no doubt a much harsher ride, but for the look it will be worth it..

As for the offset of wheels, in my opinion, 35 looks best.. 38 would look ok too, and you can always add spacers..

If you want to really go low and "tuck" your wheels, you'll need at least 39-40mm offset..

Check my sig for a link to my gallery for pics..

*edit: woah where's my sig?* oh well here is the link:

Oh, mybad. Alright then the person who has the 255's is MichealAE just PM him if he doesnt reply to this thread. I know he has 18's with 255's and is lowered so he might be able to point you in a certain direction as to which springs you should go with.

Haven't heard back yet..

Anyone else have big wheels (18x8.5 of larger) with a 35mm offset and are lowered? What size tires, wheels, offset, and which springs do you have..

Thanks in advance.. I'm scared to order until I hear from someone who has this similar setup and doesn't rub..

Nice rims. Those are the same ones I was thinking about getting except in the hyper silver. Or the HP Evo's.

Thanks yeah the hypersilvers would look cool too. I like the HP Evos as well, they were just not in stock @ wheelmax.com when I called..

So I heard back from MichaelAE, thanks for letting me know about him..

He has +42mm offset and he thought that with progress springs, I'd be pushing it with 35mm offset..

That said, it looks like I'm getting H&R since it is soft ("comfy") and not as low as Progress.. I'd go with Eibach, too, but they are too harsh..

Thanks all!!

245/40/18 on 18 X 8.5 with 40mm offset... lowered with JIC's. One finger gap all around with no rubbing problems at all (had rubbing problems with the SC CAI). Eibachs and H&R's won't drop the car as much so you will not have rubbing problems with the 35mm offset.

If you want to take a look sometime, I can drop by Turbo95Max's place on a Sunday (check your West Coast post)... or check out the pics in my sig.
