Tire time 17x7, (225/50/17) any suggestions? (235/45/17?)
I have 17*7 Konig Reigns and first purchased Nitto 450 225/50/17 because I really liked the height of the 5th gen stock tires, my car is not lowered.
I was going to put on 235/45/17 because there is way more variety to chose, the height difference would not be that much, and they'd be a little lighter, but just saw the FAQ's that said this is a no no
but some on here them anyways have they worked OK?
What are your suggestions and what do you have on your max.

depending upon where you are located, in so far as road conditions go, I wouldn't go lower than the 50 series on 17" OEM's......I personally have the OEM wheels/tires and after they go I plan on going 235/50/17 or stock size with Falken Ziex 512's or Nittos or Toyo Proxes....
I have the Falkens currently on my sister's 95 Accord and love em....especially in snow/rain...great tire...
in so far as series goes, the reason I wouldn't go lower is because as you go lower, the sidewall decreases and better change of denting rims, especially for me being in NYC, aka Pothole-O-Rama

I have 235/45/17 Sumitomo HTR+ on my stock 17x7 rims. I know they recomment 7.5 width rim for the 235/45/17, however i am planning on changing wheels this summer to a 17x8 anyway. But, I must say....the Sumitomo tire is GREAT...rides well, quiet, fantastic grip....and CHEAP. About $104. per tire. Also, the 235/45/17 fits looks very nice on the stock rim....the edges lay nice and flat no curl what so ever, they dont dip down in the center. I could not be more pleased with my tire selection. Go to Tirerack.com and read all the customer surveys concerning this tire....it is rated higher than most tires.

Do you have pics of what a 235/45/17 looks like on a 17*7 rim??

Just put Dayton Daytonas on my 2002. 235/45/17 and after just one day, they are tons better than the Potenza's. They are H rated and very quiet. Fit the stock rim just fine. Mounted and road force balanced for $541.00. 40,000K mileage rating, nice tread pattern.
Good luck..............
Good luck..............
