This is my first time doing any sort of forum, but if anyone has had a similar experience with their Maximama please share.

I bought my Maximama last December. It's a '97 mist green SE lease return. My cd player has ceased functioning. I put a cd in and it gives me a "disc error" message. I'm leary about taking it to a dealer and get overcharged when maybe all that it requires is a new fuse or something dumb like that. I have tried cleaning it with a disc cleaner but I don't think that has anything to do with that???

thanks

The deck sucks

Mine just did the same thing last weekend. You have to take the deck to your dealer, then they send it to Clarion who makes the deck, and they fix it. I threw mine in the trash and put in a Kenwood CD from http://www.crutchfield.com

The same thing happened to our 93 SE. I think the radios are crap.

First off welcome aboard {edit} Tbone. I'm sorry to hear about the bad new's with your deck. These decks seem to have quite a few problems with them. Mine works fine so far (knock on wood). Other then tossing it in the trash. Try emailing http://www.boserepair.com/ . They can help, I'm not sure how much they charge.

Regards

They gave me the runaround

Bose sent me to call the Nissan dealer. That's how I found this info out. They send the unit out to Clarion. It's not even BOSE. Clarion makes the unit compatible with BOSE speakers. The significance with BOSE speakers and why they are such good quality is that they are 1 ohm stable. So as a fix I had to get an adapter from Crutchfield and put in the Kenwood. I like it better, but I miss having the tape and CD together.
