What's the life of the stock clutch?

I'm almost at 30K miles, and my clutch feels like it's catching at the last inch. I was wondering if anyone's clutch died already, what are the symptoms, how much did it cost, and how long should it last for? I'm an experienced driver so I never really burn the clutch and I'm rerely in traffic.
Oh, and besides, should I go for the 30K mile tune up? what's included?
thnx max lovers

I'd say 15,000 miles, since I've already been through 2 of them and am on my third now.

Honestly, it depends on where you drive, how you drive, and the weather. If you drive in bumper-to-bumper traffic in Arizona and you like to race your car, it won't last nearly as long as if you drove on the highway in Maine and you drive like a grandma.

Well, there is a huge gray area between racing and driving like grandma. I love to step on it, and push it to the limits, but as long as you use the clutch correctly, I dont' see why would it wear out faster.
Anyway, were the new clutches under 36K warranty?? or did you have to pay?
thnx for the info

AFAIK, any wear-and-tear items are not covered in the warranty - like tires for eg.
No idea about clutches - i would say unless this is abnormal, it won't be covered - hope someone has some experience in this

You're right, but you're wrong too. Both times the clutch was replaced without charge under warranty. Basically what happened was that the clutch would slip in cold weather when the engine was cold, causing a "burrrrruurrrrrurrrrphhhhh" sound. The sound was similar to a locked brake caliper. So they gave me a little hassle (the typical "stupid-driver" routine), but they fixed it both times. It appears that the clutch had a TSB out on it. But the TSB didn't come out until after I had already been through the first one and was on my second one. So when the second one started acting up, I used the TSB to get it replaced.

Funny how it is... I tend to get everything fixed once BEFORE the TSB is released, and then I have to go back in for the TSB. This happened to my MAF, my clutch, and my Bose radio. Wonder what'll break next?!!!

Every 5 speed I've owned went over 100,000 miles on the original clutch. My old Prelude SI went 135,000 on the original clutch. If you drive a stick shift correctly, there's no reason not to get 100,000 miles out of your clutch.

Those who hit the track will chew up a clutch quickly.

Clutch life expectancy

Too early to relate data regarding my 2k3 MT, but I had over 150,000 on my Pathfinder and I often used that clutch to brake. Had original front brake pads and clutch when I sold it.

Hoping the Maxima will echo those results.

Front brake pads that lasted 150,000 miles on an SUV? C'mon... You must have meant original front lug nuts.
