Who takes their MAX to local car meets on the weekend?

I am about to finish school and me and my girlfriend are probably going to be moving, I told her my highest priority is to live in a community of car enthusiasts, so I would like some ideas of places where meets are a regular occuring theme.

Dallas is a no brainer, that is where I am from and that is what got my hooked on cars, the local meets at Luna RD, or Northwest Highway are incredible, at least they used to be, I havn't been there in a while

So if your area has local meets please discuss what the seen is like, and about how many people are out there.

I go to school in OKC and they do have meets every Saturday (39th aka route 66). Most people just drive around in a circle cruising back and fourth( I still don't understand that) but there are a couple of really nice 600 + hp supra's and domestics and some DSM's that meet and go out to the abandon toll roads, or just sit around talking about cars.

Last weekend was crazy saw some new lancers and 350's, some NSX's etc, the weather was nice and there was a scheduled domestic (viper cobra etc) meet close to route 66 and I guess they all decided to head over to 66 later that night. All in all there are probably about 80 or so cars that show up out at the meets, nothing compared to the Dallas meets but fun regardless.

California does make sense and I am considering it, I have my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and will have my Masters in Kinesiology and there is a big market in Cali should I want to go the exercise route, however I work at a hospital right now working mainly with special needs patients and I also teach at a local University and advise there as well so my options are a little more open.

My girl friend is graduating with all kinds of honors in finance and her job is our main concern because she will be making the big money, which I'm sure there is plenty of in california.

So help me decide, do you go out to local meets, how big are they?

east coast is better... depending where on the east coast you are you will have less stringent emissions... cali has the highest emission standard around, but then again cali has more cars....

LA has a higher car population then people population .... people in LA are outnumbered by cars 3 to 1. Now that is some chit.

Wow, I can't believe that's your first priority among other things

Really, can you not go wrong with any of the large coastal cities? What's stopping you from heading back down to Dallas?

That's probably where I will end up because I absolutly love that place, and Plano is my old stomping ground. The only reason I ask is, one to see who goes how to meets and where they are, and two me and my girlfriend are going to career services this week so if a big offer comes up in a city, I would like to know if it has big car meets.

Move somewhere where they race, not somewhere where they sit around in parking lots and bullsh!t about mods they are never going to get and cars they are never going to own.

Believe me dude, I know...I've lived downtown for 5 years...had a SWAT Tank in front of my building, had to cover the windows with towels because of the tear gas, etc, etc....See those bastards in Westlake Square everyday blocking traffic and being just generally annoying.

There's an old story that during the late 60's a town near Seattle hosted a "West Woodstock", and most of the people that went to it (many from Cali) founded towns in the area and multiplied.

Why do you think I hate hippies so much? (You've read the war thread).

Right now, the 3 military guys local to me are worried about coming over to my place with the protestors around, because they're scared if they park it and leave it for a while, the protestors will see the military badge on the windshield and hurt the car. So we've been having our meets elsewhere lately.

Cali. owns. We have meets, with nice breaks in between, so they dont get forceful or boring. We do everything from sit in parking lots, to canyon runs, to Lake Meets (well, some of us )
