Tired of Having Cracked Fog Light? I Have the Answer

After purchasing a fog light from jeff2k1GLE to replace mine that had been busted since the second day I had my car. I decided to do something to protect this one, so it won't happen again. 3M protective material for headlights and foglights. I saw it in a VW magazine. It's much thicker than the 3M stuff people use to protect their paint.

Check out my homepage, page 7 http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...=313259&page=7

I still have half the stuff left. It's more than enought to do another pair of fogs. I paid $23 shippped for this stuff. I want to sell the other half for half of what I paid for it to someone else. $11.50 shipped to your door and you won't ever have to worry about your fogs again. Just post on this thread or PM it you're interested. I know Shaydz is going to do this aswell, so he also will have half his left if anyone else wants to PM him after mine has sold.

Thanks

Is this old news to everyone or something? I thought this was pretty clever since many people are have more than once replaced their fog lights.

I don't know if it's old news or not, but I am, for example, well aware of this product. In fact, www.xpel.com sells a kit (already cut to right dimension) for the 2k2/2k3 Maxima (and other years too probably, I didn't check though...) headlights AND foglights. So you can protect your HIDs from debris as well (not from the thieves unfortunately! ).

Fog light kit by itself is only $12.91. They actually used my car to make the templates for the 2002's.

Well basically it's the same thing. I would think by cutting it yourself you would get a better fit than trying to put a piece on already cut.

The piece is still for sale. I already packaged it up, so I don't really want to open it to mearsure. I have a pic of it on my webpage. Originally it was 12" x 12". I used a strip off the end for my fogs. Fogs are what, 5" in diameter so I have about 7" x 12" left. It's enough to do the 2k2 fogs or even ones a little bigger. I would prefer a money order or check but I guess paypal is fine. Just send $11.50 to ely002@bama.ua.edu

Thanks again Nathan,
wildmanal

Really? Damn that sucks.
I'm going to buy those Hella Optilux fogs instead of the cheap oem ones so they shouldnt crack as easily....i hope.

Yeah, the same exact thing happened to me. The 3M ScotchCal didn't stop the crack. I wish Nissan had used plastic lenses instead of glass . . .

It looks like a rock hit the middle of the lense and cracked it. At least the ScotchCal is helping to preventing water leaks into the light now . . .

When I replaced my cracked fogs I got a similar paint film protection kit I believe known as "crack no more", it's thicker than the paint protection film ( I have that on my hood) came in a 12" x 12" sheet with an applicator kit. Got it on ebay and so far (2 months and counting) no cracks or film discoloring!
