Alternatives to PIAA H3 fogs???

Can I use any H3s? I usually get PIAAs but I have burnt out two pair in 6 months and at $50 a pop its getting really annoying. I had the super plasma and then the ion yellow. I like both but I found some cheaper ones on eBay that I would rather use seeing as how they are going to just burn out again in a few months.

Is an H3 an H3 that is an H3?

Thanks guys.

Oh something cheap like these??

I wouldn't go anything over 55W with a light output of 100W other than that any H3 will work.

I wouldnt mind that but I would be afraid that the lights would just crack like my current ones. Winters in MN are hell and summers with construction I have cracked 2 fogs already.

I just want a cheap bulb that I can replace often if need be.

The following site has been helpful to get a good idea on what is out there. Google the one you like to find out if you can get better prices. Hope it helps some.

He's right and they also sell on ebay cheaper! I'm waiting for my MTEC's after reading this and getting good feedback about them here on the org as far as longevity, quality and closeness to our HID's as far as whiteness, these are the one's I got:

Be careful with MTECs on eBay, they've gotten so popular that fake ones are being sold. Make sure to buy it from a reputable source like mtecpower.

Just to let you know I recently bought the H3's and H4's for my 01 max from Automotivelightingusa. I got the MTEC's superwhite and think the output is great since I don't have HID's. You don't want to put anything over 55watt in your fogs unless you plan on using a wiring harness. They are definetly the closest halogen bulb I've found to HID's. Make sure you get them off a reputable site because I know several people that got burned on Ebay with bad bulbs!
