About to buy exhaust, need advice...

I am about to buy an exhaust for my 00 gxe. I have heard really good things about the borla. I don't know if i need center, offset, etc. There was a good thread about the borla exhaust, utlimate exhaust setup, but I can't find it b/c I can't use all of the features of my donation yet. So if someone could search ultimate ehxaust borla for me, I would greatly appreciate it.

This is a good borla site I heard of- http://www.exhaustproslinc.com/bortur.html

Are there any other exhausts that have no drone and look good with dual tips, while staying relatively cheap(no hks, stillen, greddy etc.) Any reviews on the Magnaflow or Powertech? I want deep sound whenever I accelerate and pretty quiet all other times.

-Thanks

magnaflow isn't for you then if you want something quiet all the time. i have a magnaflow on my 3rd gen, and it's nice and deep but drones from 2000-2500 rpm. above that it quiet downs and the sound of the engine takes over.

i can silence it with the free baffle the installer gave me if i want it to shut up

you should have no problems with the borla. keep your catalytic converter on. i had offset center 2.25 inlet outlet muffler. i think the muffler shop can just about weld any setup on your max. the proXS was on sale for me. i think it was around $75 plus shipping for me. if they give you a deal on the bigger proXL muffler give that a whirl. it might be even quieter since it has a longer muffler body. anything 2.25-2.5 in diameter is fine for a NA maxima. don't forget to give your muffler shop some stainless steel welding wire and/or exhaust hangers so you won't get rust like me. otherwise, coat your muffler/hangers with a good clearcoat or flat black. good luck.

Thanks VQDriver answered a question I have been trying to get figured out forever. How do you like the sound? Any reviews on the powertech?

I have a powertech muffler. It's nice and deep from 0-2.5krpm and drones from 2000-2500rpm. After about 2.8-2.9k rpm it quites down a lot and you can't really hear it anymore. My CAI takes over from about 2.5k rpm so... However, from outside the car sounds mean as hell.

Peace.
