Duh... yeah... American SPORTS car... with a big V8 engine and lots more horses than a grocery-getter Maxima.

No surprise there.

Now, the 3.8L V6 Firebird... then we have a chance.

Auto 2002+ Max Vs V6 Firebird is a relatively close race. Manual 2002+ Max Vs V6 Firebird is an a$$ whoopin'...

even an auto 2k2 will have no problem with a v6 firebird.

Well I've seen stock V6's run 15.1's, and about the same for auto 2002+ Max's...I'd call that close.

EDIT- On second thought, the guy running the V6 bird said it was stock...I don't know for a fact if it was or not. I have no idea what they are "supposed" to run in the 1/4...

No not really, b/c I do use my Maxima to get Lots of geroceries from Costco all the time.

But then after I close the trunk and start ripping through my six gears getting out on the street with 255HP on my right foot I forgot its a Sedan.

+ The sound of the VQ engine w/ Injen intake. I love my car.

LOL... well, what else is a 4-door car, then?

We don't fit under the "sports car" category... we don't fit under the "luxury car" category...

Jeez, lighten up.

What about a supercharged 3.8L?

Or have you tried your max against the V6 in a Grand National GNX?

Yeah, I am. He left out "plain-jane, soccer-mom grocery-getter sedan with a 'firebreather' under the hood".

GNX will destroy a WS6 trans-am manual

GNX was destroying Corvettes off the line when it first came out.

A GNX in good condition with the waste gate wide open will easily turn 11's in the 1/4.

Not bad for a V6.

Just kidding! My max fits lots of groceries. And people. Speaking of which (kind of off this gen topic) what's the opinion on the bucket seat option in the back of the 04?

you mean eagle talon TSI? If it was stock it had at most 210hp. AWD meant he could drop the clutch at 5k and not spin, but the extra weight didn't help, either. I had an eclipse GSX and it was fun but not nearly as fast as my 6-speed max.

I like rear buckets... just not as easy to fit a lot of people in the back seat...
