I was looking at used tires and I was wondering if 255/45/18 would fit on a 8 inch wheel (car not lowered). I know the speedometer would be slightly off (6% off)

 

I put some mustang 17X8's with 275/40 - 17 tires on my max the other day. The tires are a little too wide for the rim IMO, but they fit with no rubbing. Now that's wide.

on my 240 i had 300zx tt rims the rears are 8.5 inch and had 245/45's on'em i would recomend 235/45 for ur 8 inch rims will fit perfectly on the rim http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...rk=1&do=Search

 

holy sh*t thats a wide tire

 

I am running 235/45/17 tires on a 17x8 rim. I get a slight rub when the wheel is turned all the way to the left but that is because of my offset.

 

dont go over 245, thats the max recommended size for a 8" wide rim, if you want to run 255's get a 8.5" wide rim

 

Yeah, but the offset on the cobra mustang rims is only 25mm. So the wheel stuck out about an inch in the front. Yeah it's alot of tire, but the max still had the torque to spin em through first and into second.
