Muffler Installation?

Does anyone know of a good place to get a Powertech muffler installed around the State College or Stroudsburg area of PA?

Thanks

Re: Muffler Installation?

Has anyone taken their car to one of the chains like: Meineke, Pep Boys, or Monroe?

Its not the most difficult installation to do. It should take them no more then 30min and approz $30 to get the muffler on. Only reason to take it to a muffler shop is to get the alignment 100% correct. You dont want the muffler pointing off in a certain angle, but those places will do just fine for this.

I'd go to a muffler shop if you aren't going ot do it yourself. should just be 2 bolts and removing the hangers. They'll try and sell you stuff you may not need to watch for that. Intsall should be like $30-40. Should take them about 15-20 minutes unless its all rusted - then add 10 minutes.

I thought the hangers had to be welded and the pipe had to be cut and a 2 1/4 inch pipe, for the inlet, had to be welded on?

This is not the case w/ the powertech. Its a Universal muffler. Therefore it has no hangers, and the inlet is centered. For this, they will have to weld on some hangers an make a custom connector pipe to attach the factory exhast to the muffler. Should cost about $45 and take no more than an hour. Remember, we talked about this...
