Just installed ebay 'Bomz' CAI

It came with a plastic MAF adapter, so I made one out of 3/16" steel plate and a section of 3" exhaust pipe... along with a welder, drill, etc.

One of the hose clamps was too small to fit around the MAF meter, so I had to go to the hardware store to buy a larger one.

I also ordered a new K&N filter to replace the generic unit that came with the kit.

The part that fits to the intake 'hybrid piece with the three tubes the hoses are attached to' is a NICE unit. The big rubber grommet it comes with can be taken completely out, and the air temperature sensor fits the hole perfectly!

The fit isn't perfect, but it works alright I guess. To get that side mounted fuse box to bolt in, things had to be 'cocked' out of line a bit.

It was a PITA, but it's installed, and it works. I'm not crazy about how LOUD it is, and might still switch back to the stock setup, but I'll drive it for a while and see if it grows on me or not. I can't 'feel' much seat of the pants difference in power yet... but the noise pretty much overwhelms any other impressions.

If not, I'll probably be selling my steel MAF adapter, along with the large K&N filter and precleaner wrap.

I ended up drilling the CAI hole further forward and outward than what's shown on the PR CAI template.

Good Luck!

I'll take your K&N filter if you don't use it, or barely use it!

My Hybrid intake seemed to quite down after a couple of weeks, I am not sure why . Maybe the CAI will be the same way.

Do you have a copy of the template? Why did you end up drilling the hole in a differnt location than the template?
