Read this if you have Maxxim or any other aftermarket wheels

I just put a set of 4 Maxxim Pursuit wheels on my car. They look great and I'll post pics soon. I had a problem putting them on though (besides replacing studs and lug nuts if you read the other post).
The front two wheels didn't have a problem, but when the rear two when on, the center caps popped out. For some reason the Maxximwheels.com website says the Pursuit wheels fit a 97 maxima, but the rear two dont fit right. The grese covers (i think thats what theyre called) stick out too far int eh very center of the wheel and don't allow the center cap to snap in place. I had to break the tabs that hold them in place off the cap and then super glue them to the wheels. they held, but ugh, totally not what i wanted to do. has anyone else has problems with the rear grease covers and aftermarket wheels?
thanks! btw. wheel offset is 42mm and theyre 17x7

The offset and width don't have anything to do with this, the mounting surface is just too thin (not enough material to get it out far enough to clear). Not much you can do.

I had that problem with my 17's also. At first I put the wheels on, and then went to put the center caps on, and they just wouldnt fit. I figured out that if you have the center caps on when youre putting the wheel on, and carefully put the wheel right on the center, the caps stay on.

Yep, I have this same problem and I HATE it. I have Konig Toxxins and I also broke one of the tabs on my center caps when I put in on. I was thinking about getting a set of 5mm wheel spacers to push it out some more and give just enought room for the tabs of the center caps to go through.

Hmm

I thought about spacers, but I think it's too much jsut because of the center caps. I'm going to try and have someone at Maxxim or Konig figure this out because they say the wheels fit the car, but they don't fit properly.

I don't know how much help that will do but its definetely worth a try. I just don't think the wheel looks complete the the hub showing
