i was vacumming my car yesterday and i put the passenger seat all the way back(not a power seat). When i went to move it forward it would move about an inch and then stop. It feels like its jammed up. Any ideas on what this is?

 

check all the wires under there. see if anything is out of place. maybe try and lube up the rails a little.

 

check for loose change in the black rails the seat slides forewards and backwards on

my friend used to have an xterra and got change stuck in the rails quite a few times...very annoying.

 

if it comes to it, there are only 4 14mm bolts holding the seat to the body ...

I had same prob in both my Sentra and Maxima. There was a penny in the seat track of my Sentra. I didn't know it until after about having a stuck seat for about a year, when I pushed so hard on the seat it mangled the penny and it came flying out.

Maxima passenger seat got stuck same way, looked in track and found a penny.

Crazy ****, but it happen to me as well. When I just got my leather seats instaled the driver (power) didn't move, and the passanger (not power) didn't move. I looked under the seat and saw a quarter in the rail, same thing with the other seat. Plus a hole bunch of letters was inside the passanger seat when I took off the panel in the back. I got the seats from jank yard in OH.

Make sure that if there is a cable connecting both sliding rails, that it's connected together and taut. IT can take just a little thing to get it unseated and not pull both sides. Let me know if you need more help.

 

I have a problem with my eletric driver seat. It can only slide back and forth, but it doesn't tilt or raise the lower seat up or down. It used to work fine, but this just started happening. Is there a fuse I need to check?

 

I am pretty sure it's not the fuse, but could be the motor. My seat doesnt' wanna move back or forward when somebody is sitting on it.

Mine doesn't tilt up/down either. Motor works, but it sounds like its missing the gear or something

 

Damn, this must be common. My seat has been stuck since the end of last summer. I thought I was going to have to take it to the dealer. I have to take a good look in the tracks to see if a coin is in there.

 

A mangled nickel was the cause, Thanks again Org for saving me CASH $$$$$$
