Mobil 1 0W-30?

I know the manual says 5w-30, but would it be better to use 0w-30? Or should I just use 5w-30?

zero w 30 or ten w 30? don't use either. 5w30 is what to use no matter how many miles or what your climate is.

I use Mobil 0w 30. I hear that some oil companies package 5w30 in 0w30 containers becuase the 5w30 meets or exceeds the specs for 0w30.

Why do you say not to use it?

The 0w30 is called "fuel economy" becuase it is thin, when it heats up, I think it is the same viscosity because of the last number. can anyone shine some light on this?

Long Answer: At operating temperature, the spec sheet available on Mobil's website indicates that the 0W-30 is actually slightly THICKER than either the 5W-30 or 10W-30. In this case, the colder the temperature, the quicker the 0W-30 will lubricate the top end as well. How stable the 0W-30 from M1 is is a whole nother debate.

Short Answer: M1 0W-30 will be fine for what most people will use it for.
