Ok, first off, I know damn near nothing about cars. I just bought a 97 Maxima GXE, automatic transmission, with 90k miles for 6 grand. I want to do some work on it, but I cant start with anything like a supecharger or nitrous oxide because thats way too complicated for me right now. Also, people I talk to tell me the maxima engine's a light and I'd have to get aftermarket parts to rebuild the engine. Again, way too complicated. If anyone can give me any advice, I'd really appreciate it. I want to get better performance, look and a feel for messing with my car.

So far, Im ignorantly thinking of adding/changing cool air intake, Y-pipe, spark plugs, 17" rims and tires, red/white tail lights along with, down the line, either the Stillen Areokit or the Sarona Designs kit.

And, a side note, the interior isnt leather and a friend suggested I buy leather seats from the same model from a junkyard. Good or bad idea and how much should it cost?(both rear and front)

One last quick thing, where can I find out window tinting laws, do cops even care nowadays?

Again, I dont know much, if anything at all, about cars. This is the first one I've ever owned so if youre gonna help me out, do so like you would to a 5 year old. Thanks a lot, all help is greatly appreciated.
