What Kind of OIl?
What Kind of OIl?
I use 10w-30 Mobil 1 SuperSyn oil. in my car for summer time. One mechanic told me that if you use this oil for maxima it will cause the car to use more Gas.... IS that ture??? The reason I use this oil is that in summer the Oil becomes very thin. And I think it is a better Protection for summer time. In winter i use 5w-10 same type of oil.
Thanks In Advance.

Mobil 1 5W-30 is fine for year round use, as it is still a 30 wt. oil. If you're worried about the oil being to thin you should switch brands, M1 is notoriously thin in all the weights compared to the other brands.

i thought Id try it. cant tell a difference from 10w-40. Mobil 1 is very nice though

Hopefully you are doing frequent oil changes (< 3k) because otherwise you are doing nothing but prematurely wearing out your oil pump and artifically increasing your viscosity outside of what is needed.
